VERTICALE RING FRACTURE - Triangular fixation system (trifix)
The VERTICALE Triangular Fixation System is used in procedures to stabilize the lumbar-pelvic region, posterior pelvic ring and sacroiliac region.
NOVEL SCREW-IN-SCREW TECHNOLOGY
The uniqueness of VERTICALE TriFix lies in the direct connection of the SI screw with the ilium screw (screw-in-screw technology). The system thus offers additional semi-rigid fixation. This is considered an advantage over current, commercially available systems, where screw loosening and "screw back-outs" are cited in the literature as postoperative, clinical problems.
FULL CONTROL ON SCREW INSERTION
Unlike other procedures, VERTICALE ® Triangular Fixation places the ilium screw first. Using a radiolucent insertion device, a guide wire is placed in a controlled manner through the fenestration of the ilium screw into the sacral target sacral vertebral body (S1 or S2). The SI screw is then inserted guided over this wire.
SPECIAL IMPLANT DESIGN FOR GOOD PRIMARY FIXATION
The screws for ilio-sacral fixation (SI screws) are preassembled for direct use. There is a choice between SI screw with pre-mounted washer or a pre-mounted plate. The use of the SI screw with plate allows additional fixation with a locking screw with stable angle and serves as backout protection.
A lag screw (partially threaded screw) can be used for compression of fractures.
